Communities: Brazilians in Australia is growing..

Posted by: admin  :  Category: Internet

Australia, PerthThe new web community called BrasileirosNaAustralia.com (portuguese for Brazilians in Australia) is now getting larger, just over 200 members, it’s growing fast since its launch a few months ago. In there, Brazilians share their thoughts and experiences with others, most of them wanting to come to Australia.

Doubts and fear of the new are the biggest steps to overcome when you have a well stablished life in your home country, though the need of a foreign language and the domestic competition for better jobs are pushing Brazilians to come over.

Higher quality of life, large amount of job opportunities, similar weather and landscape, all this is changing preferred destination of Brazilians, which used to be US and Western Europe, now is going over and over seas, straight down under, Australia and New Zealand. Perth and Sydney (still) are the actual receivers, incoming traffic to those cities is always increasing, stealing people from the usual ones, Brisbane and Gold Coast.

Cheers to the new community and its success, hope to all its members to be filled with one another experiences and ideas!

New Google satellite called GeoEye, is made and launched to capture scenes with a 50 centimeters resolution, so watch out your steps from now on. It was launched on September 6, and is now orbiting at 423 miles above Earth.

Google Satellite

“The GeoEye-1 satellite has the highest ground resolution color imagery available in the commercial marketplace and will produce high-quality imagery with a very accurate geolocation,” said Google spokeswoman Kate Hurowitz, adding that most commercial satellite imagery has a resolution of 60cm. “It is our goal to display high-resolution imagery for as much of the world as possible, and GeoEye-1 will help further that goal.”

3G Electronics Fair

Posted by: admin  :  Category: Events

A week or 2 ago, the 3g Electronic Fair came to Perth, and was hosted by the Perth Convention & Exhibition Centre, and lasted the weekend.

The fair wasn’t as big as I expected, though very interesting in a way. Lots of video game news, XBox 360, PS3, Wii, and their blockbuster with some new success-to-be games. Mobile phones, audio and video - home and car accessories, networks, hardware, and of course Apple. No huge news, but good games test drives at all.

Always interesting to go, and by the way, it was for free.

Cheers!

Uni is fine…

Posted by: admin  :  Category: Studies

Yeah… after a few weeks of lectures on the Master, quite full on studies, ’til the neck with books. Got a Electronic Business mid-term exam last monday, I guess I could have prepared better, and also missed material from one of the lectures I couldn’t be in, anyway, by the end I felt confident that my answers were concise enough, though was finished a bit too quick, I saw the other faces when I stood up to hand the paper… that’s me, don’t like to think way too much over the time if there’s no need. Hope for the best now :D Results by the end of September.

Back to school…

Posted by: admin  :  Category: Studies

After a long 5 weeks holiday in Brazil, here I am, back to studies. UWA (The University of Western Australia) was missing me :D hehe… Actually it feels quite good to be back, it appears to be an interesting semester on my Master, the first one was based on Electronic Marketing and pure Mkt and its interrelations, though the 2nd semester seems to focus on the Information Systems Management, Strategies, E-business and E-commerce… It’s a whole new point of view to me, usually on the sight of mkt and internet. Said that, I feel ‘googlelised’ :D hehe…

At work, restarting gradually, a bit of help everywhere, sales, customer service, breathing search engines at all… good feelings…

I’m happy though, to everyone reading, I’m happy in Perth, may not be forever, but still, I live on the beach, having a high qual lifestyle. Ask Maira… :D

Ok, time to sleep, see you soon!

Cheers.
